Infrastructure Engineer (ClickHouse)

Job Responsibilities

• ClickHouse Cluster Management: design, deploy, and operate distributed clusters (Sharding & Replication). Manage ZooKeeper/ClickHouse Keeper services;
• Infrastructure as Code: fully automate provisioning and configuration management processes using Terraform and Ansible;
• Performance Optimization: profile resource-intensive queries, optimize indices, partitioning strategies, and TTL. Tune OS kernel parameters (CPU/RAM/Disk I/O) to match specific workload profiles;
• Reliability Engineering: configure observability (metrics, logs, alerts), manage backup/restore procedures, and validate Disaster Recovery (DR) plans;
• Data Integration: collaborate on data delivery pipelines, design efficient Materialized Views, and configure external dictionaries.

Job requirements

• Experience: 3+ years as a DBRE, DBA, or DevOps Engineer with a strong focus on production database support;
• ClickHouse Expertise;
• Deep understanding of MergeTree family engines (Replacing, Replicated, Aggregating);
• Solid knowledge of ZooKeeper/ClickHouse Keeper mechanics (consensus, metadata storage);
• Proficiency in troubleshooting (analyzing slow queries, memory limits, mutation queues);
• IaC & Automation;
• Strong proficiency in Terraform (writing modules, managing state files);
• Experience writing complex Ansible roles and playbooks;
• Linux: Deep knowledge of OS internals (file systems, Page Cache, network tuning) to maximize hardware performance;
• Observability: Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, and the ELK/EFK stack;
• Scripting: Proficiency in Python or Bash for automation tasks;
