Flutter Engineer
Remote position in Europe.
We’re looking for a talented Flutter Engineer to join Inner Child once the project is able to offer a paid role. We’re currently applying for government grants and expect to secure initial funding soon. We’re building our shortlist now and plan to hire in approximately 3–5 months.
Responsibilities
Build and ship features in Flutter with strong attention to performance, UX, and maintainability.
Implement Rive animations such as state machines, interactions, and runtime integration, and collaborate with design on animation-driven flows.
Handle Android platform work when needed, including build variants, Gradle, permissions, background tasks, performance profiling, and device-specific issues.
Handle iOS platform work when needed, including Xcode setup, signing, provisioning, App Store requirements, and performance or native integration nuances.
Write and maintain tests across unit, widget, and, when appropriate, integration and end-to-end coverage.
Contribute to architecture and code quality through solid patterns, clean code, separation of concerns, and modularity.
Maintain CI/CD for mobile builds using tools like GitHub Actions, Bitrise, or Codemagic, including automated checks, builds, and releases.
Ship releases to Google Play and the App Store, covering build and signing, internal testing and TestFlight, rollouts, hotfixes, and basic compliance.
Use AI tools effectively to speed up development, while still being able to debug independently using logs, profiling, and root-cause analysis.
Requirements
Fluent in English.
Strong Flutter/Dart experience shipping real apps.
Solid experience with Flutter animations and Rive in production (or equivalent depth with a strong Rive portfolio).
Good understanding of Android and iOS nuances (not just “Flutter-only”).
Able to write reliable tests and comfortable maintaining a test suite.
Proven ability to publish apps to both stores and handle release pipelines.
Comfortable with CI/CD for mobile apps and automated quality gates.
Strong debugging skills (can diagnose issues without relying on AI).
Experience working with architecture patterns (e.g., MVVM, Clean Architecture, BLoC/Riverpod/Provider — whichever fits the codebase).
Familiar with collaborative development: PRs, reviews, code conventions, tickets, and delivery discipline.
Nice to have
Experience with gamified apps, emotional/mental well-being products, or highly polished consumer UX.
Performance optimization experience (jank reduction, memory, startup time).
Native mobile experience: Kotlin/Swift.
Analytics/instrumentation experience (events, funnels, crash reporting).
