Editorial Lead
Join Paysend to shape the future of a fintech brand trusted by over 11 million customers worldwide and help us build the world’s largest digital payments network to simplify money transfers for everyone.
As our Editorial Lead, you’ll own the company’s long‑term narrative arcs-stitching together the stories that define who we are, what we build, and why it matters-while remaining hands-on as a writer and editor. You’ll define a master narrative, craft flagship pieces, and run a modular content system that scales across touchpoints. You’ll need to be based in Europe and you’ll be part of our distributed Brand and Editorial team.
Recognized by Deloitte as one of the UK’s fastest-growing tech companies, we offer flexible work arrangements, career growth opportunities, and a culture that values inclusion, bold thinking, and meaningful design.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities):
Editorial Strategy and Narrative Architecture:
Define a master narrative and messaging architecture mapped to business priorities, audiences, and journey stages.
Plan multi‑year narrative arcs with clear hypotheses, proof points, and moments—ensuring coherence across internal and external communications.
Build a modular “content graph” (pillars, narratives, proof points, story blocks, CTAs) that recombines cleanly across channels.
Investigative Research and Story Development:
Work like an investigative reporter: conduct interviews with customers and market voices, and with internal sources at every level (from executives to product and go‑to‑market teams).
Run structured interviews, and synthesise qualitative and quantitative signals.
Create editorial briefs with hypothesis, angle, sources, artifacts, and desired outcomes; maintain a source ledger with quotes, approvals, and reusable assets.
Narrative Craft and Outcomes:
Crystallise desired outcomes with stakeholders and design stories to move audiences toward those outcomes.
Write engaging, high‑craft narratives that convert intent into action—using narrative tension, clear structure, and explicit CTAs.
Remix the master narrative into channel‑specific assets that respect how audiences interact with each touchpoint, preserving voice and purpose.
Modular Production and Channel Orchestration:
Decompose flagship pieces into modular assets (social threads, email sequences, landing pages, sales enablement, video scripts, product UI microcopy).
Maintain reusable fragments and references (quotes, stats, visuals) for rapid assembly without losing coherence.
AI‑Enabled Content Ops:
Use GenAI confidently: build prompt libraries, enforce guardrails, and apply retrieval‑augmented writing for accuracy; human‑in‑the‑loop editing is mandatory for sensitive topics.
Set up workflows to version, tag, and repurpose content at scale; measure quality and speed gains from AI.
Publishing, Distribution and Performance:
Own an editorial calendar aligned to releases and campaigns; partner with Marketing/Sales and Growth for distribution.
Define and track KPIs (engaged time, recirculation, share rate, assisted conversions); run experiments to optimize headlines, angles, and formats.
Collaboration and Governance:
Run a lightweight editorial council with cross‑functional leaders to align priorities, greenlight sequencing, and ensure clear ownership.
Partner with Brand and Editorial for visual storytelling and with Localisation to adapt narratives for key markets; route Compliance/Legal reviews when needed.
Manage a transparent flow tied to company goals; document decisions and learnings that raise the bar for editorial craft across the teams.
What You’ll Need To Be Successful In This Role:
7+ years as a content strategist/editorial lead or senior writer with a portfolio of long‑form work; newsroom or investigative experience a strong plus.
Demonstrated ability to derive business outcomes from stakeholders and translate them into long‑arc, modular narratives that scale across channels and markets.
Outstanding writing and editing skills; rigorous research and fact‑checking discipline; clarity under tight deadlines.
Comfortable using Figma for content‑design collaboration and operating with GenAI as a force‑multiplier (with strong editorial oversight).
Organized, data‑literate, and collaborative; able to set priorities and drive outcomes across stakeholders.
What Will Be A Plus:
Fintech, payments, or regulated‑industry experience; exposure to investor relations/strategy or executive communications.
Fluency in additional languages; experience adapting narratives for non‑English markets.
Data journalism, multimedia storytelling (video, audio), or SEO strategy depth.
