Backend Engineer (Elixir)
Germany, Berlin, relocation package.
We are looking for someone with a strong engineering background who enjoys building high-quality products used by millions. As a backend engineer at Wooga, you'll enjoy autonomy in decision-making and ensure smooth system operations. There are many learning opportunities and room to define your career path. With expertise in HTTP, distributed systems, and cloud infrastructure, we handle high request volumes to support our game teams effectively.
Develop, maintain and operate HTTP APIs and web apps, mainly built with Elixir
Manage, extend and improve our infrastructure (Kubernetes, AWS)
Collaborate with tech teams across Wooga on using our services and building new feature
Ensure stability and resilience of our services
Take part in our team on-call rotation every few weeks (after an extensive onboarding period)
About you
You have several years of experience as a backend engineer (game industry experience is a plus but not necessary)
You are a team player and value collaboration
You know your way around complex systems and know how to work with big codebases.
Elixir proficiency is essential, though professional experience is not mandatory. What we prioritize is your enthusiasm and eagerness to work with Elixir.
Great if you know:
Postgres, Redis, DynamoDB, Apache Kafka and ElasticSearch
Hands-on experience using Kubernetes, Helm or Terraform
AWS Services
Erlang, Ruby
