Senior Backend Engineer

We just wrapped up another record quarter in revenue & the fastest-growing part of the company is the Zerion API. It powers the onchain data behind top wallets & dapps used by millions. From early-stage crypto startups to scaled apps like Rainbow, Uniswap Labs, Farcaster & of course, Zerion Wallet itself, teams rely on our infra to ship faster, cleaner & with context.

We’re looking for a skilled Senior Backend Engineer to design, build, and scale critical infrastructure for a product serving hundreds of thousands of users. You'll be part of a cross-functional product team and will collaborate closely with client engineers to develop robust APIs, scalable systems, and seamless backend solutions that directly enhance user experiences.

What you will do

1. Write well-structured, and efficient code contributing to the development of new services and features.
2. Identify bottlenecks and optimize existing infrastructure.
3. Shape the direction of the platform and the product, making architectural decisions and driving innovation and improvement.
4. Participate in the planning of technical tasks and code reviews.
5. Be an integral part of a dynamic team, willing to take the initiative and contribute to the continuous improvement and growth of the Zerion platform.
6. Work as part of an autonomous cross-functional team, and collaborate closely with frontend and mobile engineers on product development.

What we are looking for

1. 5+ years of experience in designing & building distributed backend systems.
2. Solid knowledge of basic algorithms, data structures, and design patterns.
3. Familiarity with Blockchain systems, dApps, and smart contracts.
4. Willingness to work in a fast-paced startup environment.
5. Desire to take an active part in our product evolution.

You're likely to succeed if you have

1. Excellent knowledge of Golang.
2. Experience with containerized systems: Docker & Kubernetes.
3. Experience with SQL / NoSQL databases: Postgres, MongoDB, Cassandra.
4. Experience with monitoring tools: Sentry, Prometheus, and Grafana.
5. Experience with AWS (Amazon Web Services).
6. Experience with Python3.
7. Experience working in a startup environment, that encourages trust and autonomy.

Bonus Points

1. You are an active Web3 user.
2. You have worked with time-series data and specialized databases: ClickHouse, TimescaleDB, etc.
3. You have pet projects, blog articles and/or open-source contributions.
4. You have participated in the industry conferences.
