Middle backend developer (Node.js)
$3000–6000 gross
Location: within ±3 hours of Pacific Time (PST)
Language: fluent Russian or confident spoken English.
Tech stack:
Node.js + TypeScript, API development, MongoDB, SQL (ClickHouse), MQTT / Kafka, WebSockets.
Responsibilities:
Build and scale backend systems that power critical product features and real-world automation.
Optimize data pipelines for processing high-throughput geospatial and sensor data.
Improve scalability and reduce latency in distributed, event-driven architectures.
Develop APIs and services that deliver real-time insights to end-users.
Monitor performance, track down bottlenecks, and maintain system health.
Contribute to the reliability and maintainability of our backend platform.
Requirements:
2+ years of experience building web or mobile app backends.
Strong with Node.js and TypeScript.
Experience in API development.
Proficiency with MongoDB and SQL (ClickHouse).
Understanding of MQTT / Kafka, WebSockets.
Comfortable working in a fast-moving, sometimes ambiguous environment.
Nice to have:
Experience with NestJS, IoT, distributed systems.
Familiarity with Turf.js, Redis, Golang / C++ / Python.
