Junior Data Scientist

Location: Barcelona.

We are looking for a motivated and passionate Data Scientist at Just Graduate level to join our Barcelona office. You will have the opportunity to apply your academic knowledge to real-world problems, collaborate with experienced professionals, and grow your skills rapidly in a supportive environment.

This role is perfect for individuals who have recently completed their degrees (Bachelor's, Master's, or equivalent) in fields such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, or similar, and are eager to start their career in Data Science.

Key Responsibilities

1. Assist in developing, testing, and deploying machine learning models for various business use cases (e.g., user behavior prediction, recommendation systems, fraud detection).
2. Clean, process, and analyze large datasets to extract valuable insights.
3. Conduct exploratory data analysis to discover patterns, trends, and opportunities for optimization.
4. Collaborate closely with senior Data Scientists, Engineers, and Product Managers on projects with real business impact.
5. Participate in the development of internal tools and data pipelines.
6. Create clear, interpretable visualizations and reports to communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
7. Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.

What We’re Looking For

1. Recent graduate in Computer Science, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or a related field.
2. Strong understanding of statistical concepts, data analysis, and machine learning fundamentals.
3. Proficiency in Python (preferred) or another programming language used in data analysis.
4. Familiarity with data science libraries such as NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch is a plus.
5. Basic understanding of SQL and working with relational databases.
6. Analytical mindset with a strong attention to detail.
7. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, international environment.
8. Proficiency in English (working language at Appodeal).

Nice to Have

1. Internship or academic project experience in data science or machine learning.
2. Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and big data tools (Spark, Hadoop).
3. Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, or similar).
4. Interest or background in AdTech, gaming, or mobile technologies.
