What You’ll Do
Own backend architecture for pdf.net: Node.js services, APIs, scaling, and infrastructure.
Oversee and guide the integration of AI/LLM components (Python-based) into production systems.
Provide technical leadership for a growing team of 6–7 engineers (full-stack JS + Python AI), scaling further.
Establish best practices for code quality, CI/CD, testing, observability, and reliability.
Improve existing CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) and build new ones.
Collaborate with the CTO (frontend expertise) to ensure cohesion across the stack.
Be hands-on: design, code, review, debug, and set technical standards.
Drive architectural decisions for backend systems powering hundreds of thousands of users.
Mentor engineers and build a strong backend culture.
What You Bring
8+ years of engineering experience, strong backend foundation.
Deep expertise in Node.js
Working knowledge of Python, especially for AI/ML integration.
Proven experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP); familiarity with AWS and other cloud platforms is a plus.
Proficiency in DevOps practices: CI/CD, Docker, Terraform, monitoring, logging, and observability.
Understanding of React.js and frontend in general
Ability to lead technical direction while staying hands-on.
Strong understanding of distributed systems, architecture patterns, and performance optimization.
Excellent collaboration in async/remote setup.
