Backend Developer (Sheet Music Plus)

We’re growing the Sheet Music Plus team and looking for a Backend Developer to build a dynamic, powerful ecosystem that empowers millions of creators worldwide through the world’s largest sheet music selection.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Developing new features for product ecosystem and e-commerce projects.
  2. Debugging and resolving technical issues.
  3. Writing unit and integration tests.
  4. Deal with technical debt and improve the current codebase.

Required Experience

  1. Extensive experience with modern PHP (we use PHP 8.0), with the ability to leverage the strengths of the language.
  2. Ability to design and optimize relational databases (we use MySQL).
  3. Experience working with Yii2.
  4. Capability to manage projects independently, from design to release and support.
  5. Skill in estimating deadlines, promptly flagging issues, and focusing on results.
  6. Understanding of which tasks can be solved "quickly" and which require a more "perfect" solution.
  7. Experience in optimizing PHP applications under load.
  8. Proven ownership mindset—taking initiative, solving problems proactively, and driving solutions forward.
  9. At least B2 level of English.
  10. Ability to work overlapping hours with US colleagues is required.

Nice to have:

  1. Experience with high-load projects that have a long development history.
  2. Experience sending analytical data to services/storage (Clickhouse).
  3. Experience working with search systems (Elasticsearch).
  4. Music background or passion for music.
